Nicolas Decaudain, President of Prosper Conseil: giving meaning back to fees in France

Nicolas Decaudain, President of Prosper Conseil, discusses the value of independent advice and the delay of French people in financial education.

This week in The Cheat Code 🎙️

A new episode hosted by Louis Gaillot welcomes Nicolas Decaudain, President of Prosper Conseil.

Nicolas Decaudain's career

Nicolas Decaudain is not only the head of an independent wealth management consulting firm.

Passionate about investing since 2009, stocks, real estate and much more, he co-founded the financial education site in 2018 Avenue des Investisseurs, which has become a reference with more than 200,000 visitors per month.

In 2022, he took a new step by launching Prosper Conseil, with a clear vision: to deliver objective advice without conflicts of interest, paid only by fees. A model inspired by European standards (MIF 2), but still very little applied in France.

The importance of fees and the financial ignorance of the French

In the podcast, Nicolas Decaudain discusses a central subject: The value of the fees.
In France, many are still struggling to understand why to pay an advisor directly.

In other countries, however, it is obvious: transparency and independence require clear and assured remuneration.

This cultural barrier is largely explained by the lack of financial education.
The AMF has reminded us: the French are among the most poorly trained in Europe in economic and financial matters.
As a result, the concept of the profitability of independent advice remains poorly understood, even though it can generate value in the long term.

For Nicolas Decaudain, the challenge is twofold: to develop financial pedagogy and to concretely demonstrate the impact of objective advice in the success of life projects.
